I've told some of you about Christie Hagerman and her accident. If I haven't, this is a quick run down. Christie was studying Guarani with us in Escobar, PY. She and her family are super great people. They love the Paraguayans, and the paraguayans love them. So, Christie was coming to class everyday by motorcycle--about a 45 minute drive. The last day the guy driving
the motorcycle was turning off the main road and an SUV driving too fast tried to pass in front of them to the left. The driver clipped their handle bar on the other side of the road almost in the dirt. The car crossed the road, hit a small brick house, and flipped. The driver walked away with dirt on his pants. The driver of the motorcycle (Saul) stayed on the bike and got banged up, but walked away. Christie was thrown off and broke her femur on the left side. (Later she was told that the car had to have hit her leg before hitting the handle bars. That would have been the only thing forceful enough to break the femur like that.) She was taken to the hospital and had surgery. She is doing well and in good spirits. She told me today, "I feel like I was hit by a car." In a year, the doctor said she will be able to walk with a cane and limp.
Please pray for the Hagermans. For Christie's recovery, for their two daughters, and for Ken (Christie's husband) who had open heart surgery in January.

Thank you for the prayers, and for coming to the rescue so quickly after the accident. I didn't know HOW Ken and the girls would get to the hospital since he wasn't cleared to drive yet, and you were a God-send that day, for sure. :)
