Can your clothes be too soft?

Allison has been scrubbing red dirt out of our clothes for a year now. She has to do it because the laundry detergent doesn't get the stains out from the dirt. Or do they? Well, we will find out because for the last year we have been using fabric softener instead of detergent. That's right.

I bought the softener one time and we continued to use it without reading the bag. Last night we were in the store and Allison turns to me and says, "read this!" I said, "What....Oh" We'll see if the actual detergent gets the stains out. The funny part about the whole thing is we put the story on facebook. Our Guarani teacher's wife responded, "I thought it was a new brand that had both or I would have said something." We washed some clothes at their house during our language studies and she saw the bag. Also, I have been buying softener from the same store for almost a year without buying detergent. Can you imagine what the people at the store are thinking?
