The Beauty of it All

I recently posted on some of the frustrating environmental issues in Paraguay, but there is also so much beauty. Here are a few pictures.

The places in Paraguay that still have large wooded areas are absolutely beautiful. It seems like almost every tree flowers and there is so much diversity. Here is a picture near Paraguari. There is a long stretch of jungle there on top of this range of hills. We didn't see a lot of animals there, but Allison did see a couple of monkeys.

Around where we live a lot of the ground is used for agriculture. Here is a sunflower field with some woods in the background.

This is a view from one of the communities. This is farther south from us where most of the land is used for cattle and sheep.

This is near our house. Where we live in Itapua it rains at least one day week. This keeps the heat down sometimes, but makes it hard to fight off the mold. We recently lost a box of mac & cheese from the states to mold. Sad day. Anyway, here is a rainbow after one of those rains.

Wow, those are gorgeous pictures!! Love that greenery - we don't get enough of that in Bolivia!
