What are some of the smells that remind you of Christmas? Cinnamon, Pine, or maybe Pumpkin. What about the smell of the coco palms blooming? Not so much? Well, that is one of the smells of Christmas in Paraguay. It's summer here and it's hot. The coco palms bloom around this time and have a nice smell. People collect the pods and sell them in the street in Asuncion. The purchased pods are then placed around a nativity scene in the home.
